about me

I'm a mum of two and wife of, well, one! 

I've been teaching Pilates for many years as part of a suite of other group exercise offerings.

I'm also a practicing psychologist, working in a community based private practice; at an organisational psychology consultancy in the Melbourne CBD/my 2020 office (home), and post-PhD in 2015, I continue to supervise Honours students and conduct research at Monash University. 

I don't have my psychologist hat on when teaching Pilates, but I certainly draw from that knowledge base even when focusing on your physical self, and we do four to five minutes of relaxation or mindfulness at the end of every single class. I'm a supporter and advocate of HAES and have conducted research in the area. I don't promote quick-fixes; engage in weight-centric or aesthetic-focused dialogue; nor do I support diet culture. 

I've run my fitness business for ten years in Hobart where it all began in 2006, then in Darwin for a year in 2016, and now in Melbourne since 2018.
